With his debut EP, Will Esplin presents the story of three artists at three different points in their career.

Track 1 - Ancient Days features a mid-career artist who realizes that becoming a finalist for a prestigious award means they're about to hit the down slope of their career and tries to reconnect with the pure feeling that drove the first part of their career while at the same time becoming acutely aware of the passage of time.

Track 2 - A Basque Restaurant in Elko features a later career artist dealing with grief and loss, trying to remember and trying to recapture moments from earlier in their life.

Track 3 - The Writer at Work features an early career artist working feverishly but fitfully, not recognizing the domestic work that supports them while at the same time struggling to find a voice.

These three tracks combine buzzy drones and muted, keening synths with field recordings and/or vocals to immerse the listener in haunting and haunted, ambient soundscapes where each individual story emerges in obscure but specific ways.
